The GrovePi Invention curriculum is a series of 19 (1-4 hour each) step-by-step, self-paced lessons, complete with student worksheets and assessments. The objective is for each student to invent a device to control something in the real world — and the course prepares and inspires them with lessons on how to code in Scratch each of the 12 sensors that come in the kit.

This Open Thermal Probe offers more rapid temperature readings. The probe is for use on dry surfaces and can be mounted to beakers, distillation columns, and other surfaces using steel bands. It is compatible with LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT and the BrickPi.
The Dexter Industries Thermal Infrared Sensor (TIR) reads surface temperatures of objects. It is a non-contact thermometer based on the MLX90614. This sensor works with BrickPi3, NXT, and EV3Dev (not EV3-G)
