NXC Examples Added for NXTBee Sensors

NXTBee Sensor for Lego Mindstorm NXT on a Mindstorm Brick.

With a growing number of folks requesting NXC for Mindstorms NXT examples for the NXTBee, we’ve been working on getting more example code up.  This example is a very bare-bones one to get started in NXC.  It makes getting started with the NXTBee easier and faster . . .

There are two parts to this.

The first initializes the NXTBee radio and resets all the defaults.  It allows the user to set the baud rate from the NXT.  You can download it here:  http://www.dexterindustries.com/files/nxtbee_Setup.zip

The second batch is an example transmission and receive code for two NXT’s to talk to each other with the NXTBee sensors.  You can download it here:  http://www.dexterindustries.com/files/NXTBeeRawForNXC.zip

To run both of these examples, you must be using the latest release of NXC (1.2.1 r4 or later).  You can find it at http://bricxcc.sourceforge.net/nbc/

Special thanks to John Hansen who helped make this possible.  The code was adapted from Xander’s work in RobotC.

See more about the NXTBee Sensors for the Mindstorm NXT here.

As always, you can find this in our Downloads section.

    Hello,

    This is a nice device.
Can this replace the “Poor” Bluetooth connection with a PC?

    Cheers,

Yes, this is a great replacement for bluetooth. It’s not only easier to use, but it is more better in distance and speed.
