Wheels keep falling off

The wheels keep falling off our GoPiGo2. I’m thinking of using some Sugru to keep them on but wondered if there’d be any reason not to do this. Or, if there’s another suggestion to keep the wheels better attached.

thanks for the help!

Hey Rex,
Can you add a few pictures of the wheels and the motor shaft. We have not seen this problem happening before. Do you think adding some tape to the motor shaft would help, or you could use some plumbing Teflon tape.

I do have some teflon tape and I’ll try that tonight though the shaft is so short is hard to imagine getting a good wrap on them.

I’ve attached a picture of the bottom of our robot. I forgot to nab a shot of the shaft. I can do that later tonight.

Hey,
Do let us know if using the Teflon tape helps. It it does not, can you contact us here, under “General Questions and Feedback”: http://www.dexterindustries.com/site/?page_id=65. We will have one shipped to you immediately.

Thanks a lot for testing it out. I’m really sorry for the frustration, we’ll make it right immediately.

I didn’t get a chance to try it last night but I’m going to do it tonight and run the robot through its paces and see what happens. If it succeeds, I’ll let you know. If not, I’ll do the contact us step above.

It took some trial and error, but the Teflon tape appears to have done the trick! Thanks!

I’m attaching a ‘before’ video just so you can see what was happening.

Oops - too big. Let me try again.

That really looks like a bad motor shaft or a wheel. If you have a hard time with the motors or the wheels with the Teflon tape, you should reach out to the contacts page above and we’ll have a replacement shipped to you.
