GoPiGo motor problems

I recently got a GoPiGo as a gift. I assembled it,- no problems. But,- as others have reported, the motors only runs for a very short time. Using the basic test-program, trying any of the following commands ‘w’, ‘a’, ‘s’, ‘d’, ‘n’, ‘m’ only makes the motors run less than 1 sec. Occasionally (very seldom) they might decide to run for a longer period, but never more than 10 sec. I would expect them to run until ‘x’ is send.
I have search the forum, but found no real solution. Have anyone found a solution to the problem?

Hey,
Can you run the test the GoPiGo with the instructions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJu8k-_UQgg and generate a log file and attach it to the forums using the instructions here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMadpIEYq5o. This would help us finding more about the problem you are facing.

Can you attach a few pictures of your GoPiGo and how are you powering the whole setup.

Hello again.

I think I have found the problem. Using your ‘Dexter’-image made everything OK. I originally used a clean wheezy-image, and followed your instructions to get it modified. That did not work well,- and I experienced the errors mentioned earlier. I have tried twice, and I still can’t get it to work.

Now, using your own image, everything work as expected.

I’ll just go on from there, modifying your image to my own needs….

Sorry about the bothering you

Hey hansl, no worries. Thanks for letting us know. I’m curious, but do you have any idea what might have gone wrong with the installation?
