RS485 communications for NXT-G. This block allows High Speed Port communications for the NXT-G.




  • This block enables the user to send data over the high speed communications on Port 4 to other LEGO® MINDSTORMS® NXT bricks or sensors based on RS-485. This is a single block that can be configured to transmit or receive data in string format. Screenshots of the block in NXT-G are shown below.


  • The block can be configured in the NXT-G control panel by selecting the "Send Data" button. If the button is selected, the block can be used to send data over Port 4. If the button is not selected, the block can be used to receive data over Port 4.


  • The block can communicate at 1 Mbps, much faster than I2C and Bluetooth and works with NXT-G Version 1.05 and later.
